Color / Winter Guard

The Color Guard is a talented group of students in grades 9-12. The Guard is a vital unit of the marching band, providing essential visual effect. They combine dance, flags, rifles and sabers into a routine unique to the Holt Color Guard.

Color Guard is open to all students entering grades 9-12. Clinics/Auditions usually take place in the Spring.  Performers will be placed according to skill level in the shows/performances.  Everyone will dance and spin flag at minimum.  Summer/Fall marching season runs June-Late Fall.  Guard members must enroll in band class in the fall.  We are proud to offer both High School and Middle School teams for Winter Guard.  Audition/Clinic dates for Winter Guard take place in early November.  Winter Guard season runs November-early April.

The Color Guard performs with the Wentzville Holt Indian Band at all home football games and at four to six marching festivals in the fall.  Winter Guard practices indoors and performs at six to seven contests, including one to two overnight trips for High School and Middle school performs up to four times.
