This group meets two to three times per week before school beginning in November. Wind players, percussionists, and bass players must be a member of the Symphonic or Concert Band to be eligible. Pianists do not need to be a member of the concert bands to participate.
2009-2010 auditions will be held the second week of November in the band room.
New this year will be the Jazz Combo. This small group (5 - 6 members) is an extension of the jazz ensemble. The combo will meet after school and emphasize jazz improvisation.
Both jazz groups perform at various school and community functions, two concerts, and two to three competitions.

Congratulations to the Holt High Jazz Ensemble on their second place finish in Class 5 at the 43rd Annual Phi Mu Alpha Jazz Festival held at Truman State University this past Saturday.
1st Place - Rich Central High School (Chicago)
